Overview

GEMS New Millennium School invited Praxis to rethink and modernise its reception foyer, which needed an update that reflected how far the institution had progressed, without losing the familiarity parents and students valued. Our task was to create a welcoming, contemporary first impression that aligned with the school’s forward-looking identity.

The Challenge

The reception foyer did not match the school’s evolving community needs. Traffic flow was crowded during peak hours, parent waiting zones lacked structure, and the visual identity no longer reflected the school’s modern aspirations. The challenge was to transform a legacy space into one that communicated progress without disrupting daily operations.

The Solution

Praxis redesigned the entire reception zone with a clean white palette that elevated the atmosphere and created visual continuity. The layout was reworked to improve movement and accessibility, introducing clearly defined engagement areas for parents and visitors.Integrated wall graphics and purposeful communication reinforced the school’s ethos, giving the space both function and personality.

The central highlight included our uniquely customized seating arrangement around a bespoke, wooden"tree" structure specially installed by us to symbolize theUAE’s national Ghaf tree. The overall result was a reception that feels fresh, intuitive, and aligned with the school’s culturally rich history and future.
