GEMS Millennium Sharjah: Turning a Vision to Life
The Brief
GEMS Millennium School, Sharjah sought to elevate key spaces that shape daily engagement with parents, visitors and leadership. Praxis was commissioned to transform the Reception, Parent Café, Parent Waiting Area, and the Principal’s Office, creating environments that feel welcoming, purposeful and aligned with the school’s culture.
The objective was to enhance experience through design — ensuring these spaces communicate professionalism, warmth and clarity while supporting everyday school interactions.
Designing with People in Mind
Praxis approached the project with a focus on function, flow and emotional experience. Each space was treated as an opportunity to reinforce trust, comfort and connection — particularly for parents who interact with the school daily.
The Spaces
Reception
Reimagined as a clear and welcoming first point of contact, the reception now creates confident first impressions while supporting smoother navigation and engagement.
Parent Café
Designed as a relaxed community hub, the café offers parents a comfortable space to connect, converse and spend time — strengthening the sense of belonging within the school.
Parent Waiting Area
Calm, considered and parent-centric, the waiting area was designed to improve comfort and reduce friction during meetings, pick-ups and school visits.
Principal’s Office
The Principal’s Office was branded to reflect leadership, vision and approachability. Subtle visual cues and refined design elements reinforce authority while maintaining warmth and openness — supporting meaningful conversations and decision-making.
